Description

One of Northern Irelands leading energy providers is now seeking a Logistics Manager for their distribution operation. The client currently employs circa 300 staff across 6 sites throughout Ireland serving thousands of residential and industrial customers. Main responsibilities: Manage the transport operation, utilising both sub-contractors and own fleet (6-8 drivers) across three locations. Compliance with relevant transport, dangerous goods (eg VOSA, FTA, ADR, tacho) and associated health and safety laws both the company and haulier partners. Health and safety accountability for site operations, including work instructions, risk assessments, COSHH, fuel storage, welfare, permit to work, FLT management, access control and induction. Proactive engagement with hauliers, dealers and customers in the safe storage and use of the product as well as installation maintenance. Improvements of customer service standards (reliability of supply, interaction experience (phone/physical), right first time processes. Development in the sustainability performance of the transport operations (vehicle selection, driving styles, efficiency etc. Defend and grow the business in alignment with the local Sales Representatives. Improvement in the efficiency of the operations in terms of EUR/mT through planning effectiveness km/mT and transport efficiency EUR/km. Execute customer service and enabling financial processes including cash collection, debt management, stock management/reconciliation, query management (complaints, invoices, safe storage of fuel compliance, product access. Control of personnel and overhead costs with management of integrated suite of operational and commercial KPIs. Leadership of roadside emergency response activities with support from specialist contractors and related out of hours decision making. Strategic supply chain optimisation including stock levels, locations, truck design/replacement, driver numbers/locations, integration of new dealers. Implementation of common processes as directed by line manager, eg technology, KPIs, planning procedures, stock management, sales and operations planning etc. Development of positive working environment through staff training, talent development, team activities and engagement with other departments. Line management duties. Core management duties related to procedure development, consumable purchases, landlord relationships, near miss/incident reporting, vehicle maintenance planning etc. The Person: Minimum of 10 yrs work experience in fast moving customer focused transport environment with logistics experience and commercial exposure. Bachelor graduate or equivalent education in business or logistics. Dangerous goods and transport management qualified. Experience of EU Driver Hours & Working Time Regulations. People management experience. Partnership building communicator. Keen customer focus and commercial awareness. A strategic thinker. Visible commitment to safety. Terms: Full time/permanent. Package: £35-40k + 10% Bonus + Company Car + Benefits.
